GeoCentric Week :: Alice Book Bag

The Alice Tote pattern by Betz White in ZigZag | Grass

Today's project is brought to us by Betz White and her Make New or Make Do series of patterns. This Alice Book Bag is SO COOL! Perfect for magazines, light books or just an alternative to cavernous bags. With it's body-crossing strap and lays-flat design, this is just the sort of bag to walk around a convention hall... like Quilt Market, for instance. And of course, there's back-to-school cool!

We had Jaclyn, our seamstress, convert the webbing strap to a self fabric strap with some hefty interfacing... worked out great! We lined it in pretty Pinkish Straws from simpatico.

GeoCentric canvas is ideal for this sort of project - weighty and dense yet supple. This pattern/fabric combo will not disappoint!

  2. I agree -- the geocentric fabrics are looking fabulous on all of these projects. I was just checking out this pattern on another site today, and now I'm thinking I might get it...
