This is just a teaser, but I wanted to share. This liner was way more work (read: math) than I expected! I have three baskets- same style, different sizes. This is the smallest one. When I manage to do the other two, hopefully I'll have a sensible tutorial for you! Please don't hold me to it though because I if they go anything like this one, it's basically winging it. Sort of like draping patterns: Measure. Drape. Snip. Pin. Snip. Measure. Measure. Measure. Drape. Tuck. Pin. Baste. Unbaste. (repeat) Snip. Pin. Sew. aaaand Done.
I like it! Vague directions for winging it count as tutorials too, at least if knitting is any indication. Just call it a recipe rather than a pattern.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric goes perfectly in a little basket!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! that sounds like my sewing... Only I sew like that all the time and not with quite so spectacular results! =]

Did you ever write a tutorial for this? I need to make a basket liner like this, so that the handles stay exposed. Did you use a facing for that opening? Or just doubled those pieces for a clean finish of the square opening? Thank you
