ReplyDeleteI agree with Lindsay--voile or cotton lawn would be wonderful! Though I'm very excited for the canvas collection, and honestly, I'm wearing a shirt made with Nature Walk right now and it couldn't be softer.
ReplyDeleteI hope Geninne is interested in more collections--Alegria is just gorgeous!
MORE beautiful fabric!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! I'd love to see further collections from previous designers, like Julia Rothman and Heather Moore. Also, Eleanor Grosch is one of my favorites that I'd love to see more fabric from.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see this collection is finally available! To be honest, this is just what I've been looking forward to. I think Geninne's artwork is so beautiful. I love to follow her blog. But I've also been dreaming about the Across the Pond collection too.

ReplyDeleteLinda on travjonuk@yahoo.com
First of all, I Love the Alegria! But wow, to see your stuff in Voile would be amazing and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteVoile, voile, voile in solids & prints - it's been forever gone as a fabric choice for years. I can remember Spring dresses for young & old made from voile. Also a second for "canvas" & another vote for "Across the Pond" & Geninne's "Alegria", so wonderful and enchanting! I'm new to your site & love the communication it brings to fabric collectors & innovators.
ReplyDeleteAlegria is such an awesome set! I also love the bold prints in the GeoCentric set. Would love to see some knits as well!
ReplyDeleteI'm very keen to see more clothing-weight fabrics with good drape. The voile will be lovely and I hope you'll re-issue some of your current and past prints as voiles - Blue Birds, Walkabout, and Blooms (both colours) from Alegria would be amazing, of course, but the little florals (Moss?) from Nature Walk, and the floral and the red birds/clouds prints from Cut Out & Keep would also be a treat. Another thought is quilting/sheeting cottons in extra-wide widths, for one-piece quilt back and beautiful bedlinen. One more request if I may? Some woven stripes in colours to co-ordinate with your prints.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of Geninne's and i'm very excited to see her work printed on fabric.
ReplyDeletei love working with natural fibers, especially cotton/linen blends and hemp for special projects. More often i use quilting weight cotton and cotton canvas.
I would love to see some of the Ed Emberly designs in flannel; they would make fabulous pyjamas.
ReplyDeleteFor myself the voile sounds fabulous, and for my business I would also love to see some organic corduroy solids...they're REALLY difficult to get hold of, my only source so far is the UK!
As well as sharing everyone's excitement about the voile, I'd like to see you get Fairtrade certification for all your lines. That would be great. hazle - coldpost@hotmail.co.uk
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the "Hey, That's Swell" collection! And I look forward to all the projects featured here on Floating on Cloud9 :-)

Well recently I have cut out all genetically tampered (they call them "modified" which means spliced with viruses, aborted cells, other mammalian DNA etc) foods from my family's diet. Then I heard that soy and cotton are like 90% or more genetically tampered with. Ick. So it became more important for me to use organic fabric (also learned that fabrics have formaldehyde all over them, what???!) SO *my point* You are making it easy to indulge in organic fabrics with this beautiful line and all your otrher fabrics!! THANK YOU!!! I would LOVE to see some organic flannel for backing quilts with pretty designs. Thanks:)
ReplyDeletewell dear me I went perusing your site and you DO have organic flannels! Yay!!

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I'd be very excited to see your prints on voile or lawn too, to make it easier to use them for dressmaking (I use them for dressmaking already, but it would open up my pattern choices if there was a bit more drape).
ReplyDeleteLove your work!
Oh, I forgot to add that I really love the color intensity in Alegria. It is just saturated! I have my virtual basket full of it over at Pink Chalk Fabric
ReplyDeleteI love love love Alegria! I have had photos of the prints saved on my computer for the longest time in anticipation of the fabric coming out this year. Would love to win a bundle of it.

The designs are gorgeous and classic, and the story behind them is fascinating too. burnissaurus [at] aol.com

You already know how much I'd love voile from my requests on Twitter, but in an effort to say something different I'd add silk to the list! In fact any dressmaking fabric with an amazing drape with a focus on small, wearable patterns (I think that's why Liberty works so well for clothing - it's easy to wear as their designs tend to be on a very small scale). However, your designs always surprise and delight me - you just consistently get it right, so I don't think I have any major suggestions there - just excited anticipation to see what you bring out next.

Tutorials are my favourite thing to read. Why not a tutorial for something that can be made from a fat quater. I never know what to do with such a small amount of fabric.
ReplyDeletemore of Gennine's work!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this collection by Geninne and I would love to see more of her work in fabric. But in addition to that I would also love to see a collection that has a more "adult" or refined look, so that it is more applicable for making loving room accessories. Most of the current collections are too frivolous for me to be able to use as such.
