Sewing Green

My friend, Betz White, recently published a fantastic book, Sewing Green. I LOVE this Q&A interview with her on True Up where she answers some smart questions from blogger/reporter, Kim Kight.

I don't even want to copy and paste- you should just go read it! Betz eloquently states some of the finer points of her crafting outlook and consumer philosophy and we at Cloud9 Fabrics could not agree more. What's more, is she mentions that she, too, is working on a collaboration of an organic cotton collection of prints for quilting and home sewing market- and this is really music to our ears. Certainly, there is a wonderful trend afoot:  One that offers consumers an alternative that, up to now, has been scarce. With the rise of interest and awareness in this market, a strong message will be sent as well as the opportunity for new and exciting businesses. We're looking forward to the emergence of this movement and we're so happy to be in league with its forerunners.

  1. Yay! I am so happy to think that in the near future I may be able to enter my local fabric store and buy organic fabric! I also hope that other organic crafting items such as kapok will soon become easily available.
