Another day, another quilt design

This time it's for a teen girls twin-sized bed. What say you Quilters? Can it be done? Easy? Hard? MOR? (comprised of 12" blocks 5 across, 6 down, with borders in 2" thicknesses). I call it Garden Maze because it reminds me of formal hedge rows and flower beds.

  3. is the middle overlapping square (with the darker stalk design or the one opposite it, the light blue with white background) made of smaller squares? if so then this (i would think) is reasonably straightforward...but i'm certainly no quilting genius!

  4. Your lovely pattern is very do-able and relatively simple.

The trick is to make the 12 " blocks as basic 9 patch blocks. In other words when constructing the block as a basic 12" square, you would use 9 smaller squares, each 4.5", per block.

The layout of the prints and square patches in each block would create the illusion of the overlapping squares.

Then the blocks would be set on point with the bright yellow sashing and pale yellow squares in between.

    Hope that makes sense!

  5. This is beautiful; I'm certainly no expert, but I see this as being very doable! Very nice work!

  7. It does look nice Michelle. The only thing I would change is making one of the outside boarders a different width. Keep one 2 inches and make the other 4. Lovely quilt!
